Before you start
laughing, this was some fancy shit back in the days.
Now - not so much.
I was into
overclocking and cooling alot at the time, it was back in 2001-12-XX. I made a
windowkit in the handcrafting class, and I also made my own watercooling
system, with the CPU block made from aluminium with a milling machine. To be
honest, I never really did get those good temperatures, but it's been a very
good experience putting the system together.
Lateron to
enhance the visual appearance, I made glowfeets and a blowhole, as well as
putting LEDs in the front of the case. I also made a LCD-display, a fan-control,
glowing fans, and a glowing keyboard. Pretty much anything I could think of with
a pre-made case.
Even though I haven't
really weighed it, it's about 20kg just the empty original case, so I it weights
about 30 with the water cooling system and all the hardware. A real
beast to move around to LAN-parties. It served me as a fileserver and TV-Out
box, until I replaced it with Beyond The Grave.
The hardware has been
changed more times than I can remember, but the current setup is:
AMD AthlonXP 1700+ @ 1,9Ghz (Former 2,2Ghz, but it got worse with time, and I
don't care enough any more.)
Abit NF7-S 2.0
Corsair XMS 3200XL 2x512MB
ASUS Geforce4 Ti4400 128MB
LiteOn CD-RW 40x12x48
NEC ND-1300A DVD+R/+RW/DVD-R/-RW (4/2,4x)
Antec TrueControl 550W
Maxtor DMAX+9 2x200GB S-ATA RAID0
Maxtor MAXLine 250GB IDE
WDC SE 3x200GB IDE
